The INN Between, launched in 2015, is a pioneering nonprofit facility offering essential medical respite and end-of-life care for Utah's unsheltered population. It provides a safe, caring environment, hospice access, volunteer support, and dignity during final days. Located in Salt Lake City, the organization can be reached via web-based referral/email systems, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube. While The INN Between does not provide hospice care directly, it partners with licensed hospice agencies that deliver medical services on-site. The facility offers a safe, sober, homelike environment, staffed 24/7 with trained caregivers and volunteers. It also provides emotional and spiritual support, including end-of-life doulas and a program ensuring no one dies alone. With over 900 clients served and more than 90,000 nights of care provided, The INN Between has significantly reduced ER visits and healthcare costs, saving local hospitals an estimated $1 million annually. Their hospice care has allowed more than 145 individuals to die with dignity, and many others have recovered and transitioned to stable housing.
