Providence Anchorage Hospice is a nonprofit hospice care provider based in Anchorage, Alaska, and is part of the larger Providence Health & Services system. The program has served the Anchorage community since its Medicare certification in 2006, delivering high-quality, compassionate, end-of-life care to patients facing life-limiting illnesses. Services Provided: Providence Anchorage Hospice offers a full spectrum of Medicare-certified hospice services, which include: Routine Home Hospice Care – In-home support from an interdisciplinary team General Inpatient Hospice Care – For symptom management in a hospital or skilled nursing facility Continuous Care – Short-term intensive care during crises to avoid hospitalization Respite Care – Temporary care for patients to provide relief for caregivers 24/7 On-Call Nursing – Registered nurses are available around the clock Pain and Symptom Management – Including medications and medical supplies Emotional, Spiritual & Bereavement Support – Delivered by social workers, chaplains, and volunteers Medical Equipment & Supplies – Delivered to the patient’s home as needed Volunteer Companionship Services – To provide emotional and social support All services are coordinated by a skilled interdisciplinary team, which includes physicians, registered nurses, social workers, certified home health aides, chaplains, and trained volunteers.
